1. Did you know that by rubbing Vicks Vapor Rub on a child or an adult's feet for that matter and then putting socks on will break a fever.
2. Did you know that you can use shaving cream to clean your table and counters to get the scum off.
3. As we all know kids do say the darndest things. We were in the elevator on our vacation and Devin announces to the other family in the elevator that this is his dad's peepee. Great.
4. Draysen now calls everybody by their full name (including middle name). Of course this is quite the feet as Draysen and Devin have two middle names. The middle name that we gave them along with their Russian first name. My husband (Mr. NWA) is pretty simple with John. Well Draysen must be in a Pirates of Caribbean mode as he calls him David Davy Jones Locker.
5. Gathering paperwork for an adoption home study can give a person a heartache. We have not even gotten to the good stuff yet.
That is enough for today but, there will be more to come.

Oh, sister - I feel your pain with #5!!! We are STILL working on it for the second time for the same adoption. The first time it was even kind of exciting & maybe a little fun. This time, nope.
Oh I can so relate to the adoption paperwork heartache. We've filled out paperwork three times now for this same adoption. Once for Guatemala, then we had to put it on hold because God opened a door to a sibling adoption through foster care in in Ct for us, then once they were adopted (8 months later) God sent us back into Guatemala paperwork (we had to start over), the country closed to adoptions in January...God switched us to Ethiopia...all new paperwork...paid three times, can you say ouch...heartache, yes at times, but I do know that God's ways are higher than mine and He knows what is best for us.
May He bring you peace and give you vision for the road He has for you ahead.

one homemade and 5 adopted
I did know about the Vicks thing but hubby says it doesn't work. He was the guinea pig for us.
Love the Devin funny! Sounds like something my boy would say.LOL!
And umm...yeah...paperchasing= headache!
Hang in there. It's like eating an elephant...one tiny bite at a time. I mean come on...who thought that up?! Sorry, lack of sleep :0)

Thanks for stopping by! I love to meet new people...especially those with red hair, like your knight in shining armor. :)
Love your comments on "Things To Ponder", especially #3!!!!! That is classic! :-0
Will be praying for your upcoming adoption and the process. We had intended to adopt but then our little Jack popped into our lives so my husband said 3 boys was enough. LOL I would still love to but God would have to open up that door and change my husbands heart.
Are you a runner by chance?
I can so relate to the paperwork. Agh!
How funny about the elevator comment. Was your son referring to the elevator being his peepee or did he point it out? :)
Bless your heart with the paper work. On a lighter note, I love your vacation pictures...especially the one with the kiddos in their Mickey ears! We went to Disney the year of their 50th anniversary and got Golden ears! They are such a fun thing to have!
Paperwork? What a nightmare! thanks for stopping by and meeting my beautiful family. you are going to find that some people just don't get adoption. It is a calling and not everyone is called.
After our first adoption so many did not understand. I tried to explain that life was all about giving back and there were children who I could give a family too and what could be more important than that?????
I'll pray for you and thanks for stopping by. I used to live in AZ and would return in a heartbeat!
hi! thanks for checking out my blog. I like yours too. Nice pictures! I will pray for your adoption funds to come in. I appreciate that you guys are trying to adopt, I think that is great (God does too.) -Becky in NJ
I did not know number 1 but I am trying it!!! (hopefully not soon.
and girlfriend I know the heartache of number 5!!!
The elevator comment is funny-Reminds me of a time when
I was shopping in a crowded store with Seth, my oldest when he was about 3 years old. He yelled out as we stepped into the long checkout line, "Mommy has penis!"
Not sure where he got that idea-but I was sure embarassed!
